About Michael Fey

Associate Attorney

Education.

Michael Fey grew up in San Gabriel and attended high school school in Pasadena, California. He came to the Inland Empire for college, and he attended University of La Verne for both his bachelor's degree and juris doctorate. Michael still maintains his roots in the Pasadena area with relationships, but also is a member of the Huntington Library and participates in activities at his high school alma mater, La Salle High School.

Michael made the decision to pursue his law degree, with the intent to help people who truly need it, not only in the courtroom but also outside through counseling and advising clients in their decisions.

While attending law school, Michael was the first student at La Verne Law to volunteer in both the Disability Legal Aid clinic, which protected disabled children's rights, and the Immigration Clinic, which involved representing a client seeking asylum in the United States. Helping people through these clinics only reinforced Michael's belief in the law. Through all of this work, Michael was able to graduate Cum Laude from law school, while at the same time interning at a local law firm to obtain practical experience.

Experience.

Michael is well versed in Family Law, having interned for over a year prior to being admitted to the bar and continuing in that field thereafter. Michael has also practiced Bankruptcy, Civil Litigation, Unlawful Detainers, and Criminal Law, which has improved his own practice and experience. Michael is dedicated to each and every client's case and works to obtain the best resolution possible.

When handling any type of case, Michael looks towards an amicable resolution of any issue prior to advancing the case towards litigation. An amicable approach is not only cost effective for clients, but also it avoids additional emotional stress and fear most people have with appearing in court on a contested matter. However, if the case cannot proceed amicably, Michael will take any aggressive approach he needs to advance his client's interest and obtain a resolution of the issue.

Michael has continued to be involved in the local and surrounding communities by giving back through volunteering for the Youth Justice Court through San Bernardino School District for alternative resolutions for troubled children for 2 years. He volunteers in the City of La Verne schools, talking to children about the legal field. Previously, Michael has also volunteered at the Pomona Courthouse Self-Help Center providing free legal aid to those in need and being employed at the Montebello Courthouse for a summer in the traffic division.

Personal Values.

Some of Michael's personal interests - include hiking local mountains, enjoying times with his family, and reading.

Michael's awards and involvements include, but is not limited to, graduating Cum Laude from law school, placing on the Dean's List in Law School and Undergraduate classes, participation in the Western San Bernardino County Bar Association, Riverside County Bar Association and American Bar Association.
